Source: Russia, EU to mull WTO state procurement dispute Sep 13

BRUSSELS, Aug 26 (PRIME) -- Consultations of representatives of Russia and the E.U. within the World Trade Organization (WTO) regarding the dispute over import procurements for Russian state companies were scheduled for September 13, an E.U. source told PRIME on Thursday.

“The consultations were scheduled for September 13, 2021,” the source said.

The European Commission was dissatisfied with measures of the Russian government that restrict or limit possibilities for E.U. companies to sell goods and services to Russian state companies under the state procurement mechanism.

The European Commission launched the WTO dispute in late July, and the Economic Development Ministry of Russia said then that it was ready to assure the E.U. that rules of state procurements in the country do not contradict the WTO norms.
